Bring the Spa Home
Bring the Spa Home
Who doesn’t like a day at the spa? You can’t always get there, though. There are other obligations, and spas cost money. However, if you want to bring the spa home to you, you now have the opportunity to do that. There are a lot of products out there on store shelves today that can give you the spa experience. Gels, lotions, and scented items for the bath are very popular, as are candles and aromatherapy products. You can easily turn your bathroom at home into your own little spa, and you won’t have to break the bank to do it. You’ll want the right ambiance, and most of that is about lighting and sound.
Candles, scented or not, are a great way to get just the right amount of flickering light. If you’re at all concerned about candles getting knocked over there are manufacturers now who make battery-powered candles. They look like the real thing but they can’t cause a fire, and they come in different scents as well as an unscented variety. You’ll also want to have some music. No matter what kind of music you like for relaxation, make sure you have it on hand so that you can really relax.
Whatever you get to put into your bath, make sure you like the scent and that it’s something that will be good for your skin. When you get out of the bath you should feel clean and rejuvenated and beautiful, not greasy or oily. Some bath products have too much oil in them, but you can avoid these pretty easily by paying attention to the labels and doing a little bit of research. Don’t be afraid to stand in the store aisle and smell the bath products. You should be sure that you like something before you buy it and take it home.
Use just enough in your spa experience to get the scent and feel of it, and don’t overdo it or you can risk irritating your skin. If you’re concerned about that, you can also shower off briefly once you leave the bath, but some people feel that this takes away from the experience. Others don’t mind. In the end, it’s totally up to you and what you like. Not everyone gets the same experience at the spa, depending on what type of treatment that they enjoy. It’s your home spa, so set it up the way you like, and when you leave it you’ll feel relaxed and pampered.
