Landscape Rake
Landscape Rake
Many of us don’t even give a passing thought to what a landscape rake is or what it does, but maybe we should. These types of rakes come in many sizes and styles for many different jobs. If you have a home and some property, you could probably use one or more.
For example, you can use these rakes not only for lawn maintenance but for home maintenance as well. You sure don’t need to be a professional landscaper or grounds keeper to find many uses for this tool in your own backyard.
Here are some areas around your home and property that can benefit from having a landscape rake handy:
1. Your field or pasture. These areas can get overrun with debris and weeds (and if you have horses or other animals you can use these rakes to spread out their waste too).
These rakes can be mounted behind your tractor so you don’t have to break your back doing it by hand.
2. Your roof. Some of us live in climates where we get a lot of snow over the course of the winter, in some cases dangerous amounts of snow. That snow, especially if is a wet heavy snow, can add a lot of weight to the roof. Getting the excess snow off of the roof is a priority.
But no one wants to be teetering up on a ladder in the dead of winter and that is why there are many long handled rakes made expressly for this purpose.
You can stay firmly on the ground and rake the snow off your roof safely and quickly.
3. Your pond or shoreline. Keeping debris off your shoreline can be a challenge. There are rakes specifically made for this purpose. They are strong and have teeth that are spread far enough apart so that the rake isn’t constantly getting tangled up.
You can also get a rake that will help you keep your sand looking neat and debris free too.
4. Your gravel road or drive. Keeping a gravel drive in good condition is a constant struggle. Having a tool that makes it easy to fill in holes as they occur can help you whittle the job down to size.
Again, you can add this rake to the back of your tractor for bigger areas or do it by hand for a small spot.
This list is by no means exhaustive, but it should give you ideas of what uses even non – professionals can have with a good quality landscape rake.
