The Towing concept
The Towing concept
First concept of towing, cripper Italian cruise ship being towed in the Indian Ocean with more than 1000 people aboard and no air conditioning now won’t reach land in the Seychelles until three days gone. The cruise ship company said that food, satellite phones and VHF radios would be brought the CostaAllegra by helicopter. Hundreds of people milling on the ships outside decks and officials said paddengers would sleep there as well instead of in their unlit cabins. The CostaAllegra has 636 passengers and 413 crew members on board among them are 212 Italian, 31 British and eight U.S. passengers. Four of the passengers are children ages 3 or younger. The ship lost power Monday after a fire in its generator room, which knocked out power to the ship’s engines as well as to its light and air conditioning.
Cruise ship officials had said that they would be taking the stranded travelers by Wednesday to desroches, a small, exclusive coral Lines Island bring in the Seychelles. However, they later said that they would instead bring them to the main Seychelles island of Mahe. The cruise ship company said the change was done foe safety and logistical reasons and that Allegra would reach mahe early. Two tug boats have joined a French fishing vessel to tow the cruise ship. The fire aboard the CostaAllegra comes only six weeks after one of its sister ships, the Costa Concordia, hit a reef and ship wrecked off Italy, killing 25 people and leaving seven missing and presumed dead. Towing safety measures, there are many safely considerations to properly towing a caravan of trailer starting with vehicle towards capacity and ranging through equalizer hitches to properly and legally connecting the safety chains.
According to the United States national highway traffic safety association, more than 65,000 crashes involving passenger vehicles towing trailers occurred in 2005 in the US, jumping nearly 20 percent from the previous year. The study, towing troubles included responses from trailer owners across the country and found that while the majority of trailer owners believe they know what they are doing when it comes to towing, most were lacking the proper education. Master lock report that 70 percent of trailer owners did not fully know the correct way to tow their cargo. Many cars fitted with tow bars, most are likely to have fitted towing electrics which are hidden from the car.
This system is used to protect the car’s lighting systems from potential damage if wiring in a trailer should malfunction. It is a tried and tested system in very wide use. It does not communicate with the vehicle and will not activate any safety or convenience systems. It is not advised for use in cars that depend on sensing the presence of a trailer to activate towing-related safety features within the car. In addition to this, there are a number of vehicle manufacturers that do not recommend or actually ban any connections to be made from the vehicle lighting harness.
